President Edgar Lungu says government is effectively fighting the Cholera epidemic that has ravaged some parts of the country.
President Lungu is optimistic that the measures put in place by Government are adequate to contain the deadly disease.
The Head of State was speaking when he visited Cholera patients that have been admitted at Heroes stadium in Lusaka.
President Lungu explained that his visit to the stadium which has now been converted into a Cholera centre has revealed that most Cholera cases are as a result of consumption of contaminated water.
He further assured that government will come up with long term measures to provide clean drinking water to the people.
And President Lungu says there is need to dedicate a day in every month to clean the surrounding.
The Head of State says this will help improve hygiene and fight other waterborne diseases apart from Cholera.
