Government says expansion works at the Maina Soko Hospital in Lusaka will cost 140 million United States Dollars.
And Infrastructure Minister, Ronald Chitotela has refuted reports on social media that the hospital will cost four million US Dollars.
Mr. Chitotela says the 140 Million US dollars will include provision of hospital equipment and training of staff.
And the minister is impressed with the works done so far by an Israeli contractor Ashtrom.
Speaking when he toured the contraction site, Mr. Chitotela however asked the contractor to incorporate Zambian contractors in the project.
And Ashtrom Zambia Managing Director, Guys Gross said phase two of works include construction of houses among others.
Meanwhile, Jansi African Construction Limited, Project Director Bernard Chiwala the only Zambian company that has been sub- contracted said Zambian engineers have the capacity to do the works.
