The Millennium Challenge Account – MCA- Zambia has completed the rehabilitation works of the more than 50 million US dollars IOLANDA water Project in Kafue.
The project involved the rehabilitation of the water intake point, the treatment centre and the transmission line to Lusaka.
MCA Zambia Director infrastructure Development, water supply CHIPILI Chikamba has disclosed the development during a media tour of the facility in Kafue.
Mr. Chikamba said the facility has since been handed over to the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company.
He said the rehabilitation works have also seen the computerisation of the facility for easy maintenance by the water utility company.
Mr. Chikamba said with proper maintenance the facility will have a life span of over 25 years.
