Three opposition political party leaders have expressed disappointment in the manner the Law association of Zambia-LAZ President Linda Kasonde responded to the invocation of Article 31.
Christian Democratic Party President Dr. Danny Pule says the LAZ president should heed to President Edgar Lungu’s advice of forming a political party than misleading the public in order to please the opposition.
And New Congress Party president Peter Chanda says LAZ should provide balanced information on national matters.
Mr. Chanda has however called for sanity in the Law Association of Zambia and asked its leadership to desist from politicking national matters.
Meanwhile, Zambia Republican Party leader Wright Musoma said LAZ should stop playing politics on important national matters.
And Former Kafue District Commissioner Michael Bwalya says it is shocking that the Law Association of Zambia-LAZ- is raising a question on circumstances leading to the invocation of article 31 of the constitution.
Mr. Bwalya wonders LAZ’s motive saying reasons for Presidential intervention have been ably catalogued by President Lungu.
He says LAZ should concentrate on providing legal guidance to people on important national legal matters than engage in politics.
Mr. Bwalya says LAZ should stop abusing the profession by engaging into politics.
He says the conduct by LAZ president Linda Kasonde is unfortunate.
Mr. Bwalya said this in a Telephone Interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
