Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people in Eastern Province has praised security personnel for being disciplined.
The Traditional Leader says the men and women in uniform have always been available to the needs of the residents of Chipata District.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said this when Minister of Defence Davies Chama paid a courtesy call on him at Impendukeni Palace.
And Mr. Chama said Zambians must expect more from the security personnel as they have ventured into Commercial farming and other economic generating activities.
He said all the three security wings, Zambia National Service, Zambia Army and Zambia Airforce have acquired farms.
Mr. Chama said the country has vast land and the security wing is working towards putting it to good use.
And Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Lawrence Sichalwe says government is committed to supporting traditional ceremonies in the country as they preserve and promote the Zambian cultural.
Mr. Sichalwe said this when he graced this year’s Chivweka Traditional Ceremony of the Luchazi people in Kabompo District.
Mr Sichalwe says traditional ceremonies enable the country to showcase its tradition and culture.
He said government will continue to partner with the traditional leadership in order to sustain local and national development.
Meanwhile, Member of parliament Ambrose Lufuma thanked government for development projects it has initiated in the district.
