Mulungushi University has launched the 2019-2023 strategic plan aimed at providing guidance on the running of the institution in the next five years.
The University has also commissioned a fully-fledged Moot Court to be used for academic purposes by learners at the institution.
And Higher Education Minister Nkandu Luo said the strategic plan will see the improvement of higher education standards in the country.
Professor Luo said the strategic plan will play an important role in the infrastructure development at the institution which is in line with the 7th National development plan -7NDP- and vision 2030.
The Minister said this in a speech delivered on her behalf by Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga.
And Mulungushi University Chancellor Professor Oliver Saasa called for mid-term reviews if the Road Map is to be effective and build capacity among students as well as management at the institution.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the Institution Professor Hellicy Ng’ ambi said the launch of the strategic plan will earmark the institution as one of the best institutions in Africa when it comes to service delivery.
And Mulungushi University Caretaker Committee Chairperson Yusuf Ahmed said it is gratifying to note that the strategic plan is the third in the country to be launched with components of the -7NDP included.
