Central Province Minister Sydney Mushanga says Government has embarked on school infrastructure development programs in its quest to render quality education accessible for all.
Mr. Mushanga says over 2-hundred and 20 basic schools have recently been upgraded to secondary schools as part of the development program.
He was speaking in a speech read for him by Central Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Patrick Mwanawasa during the handover of a 1 by 3 classroom block at Mpunde Secondary School in Kabwe built by the Japanese Embassy.
And Japanese Ambassador to Zambia Hidenobu Sobashima assured Government that the Japanese Government through the embassy will always be open to supporting developmental projects and children’s education.
Mr. Sobashima said 1 hundred and 70 projects have so far been funded and implemented throughout Zambia by the embassy.
He said the completion of the project will enable the school to enroll 1 hundred and 50 more pupils from grades 10 to 12.
