The Netball World Cup qualifiers for the African region have come to a close, with hosts Zambia failing to qualify for the Liverpool 2019 World Cup.
This is despite Zambia beating Namibia 76 to 52 in the final game of the qualifiers played on Saturday.
Zambia has finished fourth best in the championship.
The teams to represent Africa at the Liverpool World Cup are Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
And speaking in an interview with TV2 Sport, Netball Association of Zambia General Secretary Pritchard Ngoma said he is not disappointed with Zambia’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
Ngoma says team Zambia has a bright future, as most of the girls are quite young and promising.
He said the loss to Zimbabwe during the week highly affected Zambia’s chances, but is impressed with the overral performance.
Ngoma said the team will go back to the drawing board and hope for better results in the future.
Zambia was hosting the Netball World Cup qualifiers, which had seven countries participating, for the first time.
