275 WILD LIFE OFFICERS RECRUITED
Government is set to recruit 2-hundred and 75 Wild Life Police Officers.
Ministry of Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela has disclosed to ZNBC News in Chiawa, Kafue after touring the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Reverend Sikwela said the Wildlife Police officers will be deployed to various National Parks and Game Reserves in the country.
He also disclosed that the Pass out Parade for the Wildlife Police Officers will take place this month.
Meanwhile, Conservation Lower Zambezi Chief Executive Officer Ian Stevenson said his organisation is ready to restock Black Rhinos in Lower Zambezi National Park when government approves the move.
Mr. Stevenson also said the poaching of elephants in Lower Zambezi National Park has drastically reduced this year.
In response, the Ministry of Tourism and Arts said the restocking of Rhinos in the Lower Zambezi National Park will be approved as soon as Conservation Lower Zambezi makes a formal application to government.
Conservation Lower Zambezi which was established in 1994 is an organisation that supports the Department of National Parks and Wild Life to implement various conservation efforts in Lower Zambezi National Park.
