90 PERCENT REPORT FOR CLASS

At least 90 percent of the pupils have reported for class on the first day of the second term for the academic school Calendar.
This came to light when Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA visited selected schools in Lusaka to check on pupil attendance.
Among the schools the Minister visited include Jacaranda combined School, Lusaka Girls and Munali Secondary.
And Mr SYAKALIMA said the improvement on the pupil class attendance on the first day of opening is a clear indication that the free education policy is working.
Mr. SYAKALIMA said most pupils had challenges accessing education due to the fees.
He has assured that government is working to ensure the challenge of classroom space is addressed.
Mr SYAKALIMA has also noted the need to create more classroom space using the Constituency Development Fund CDF.
He has further urged school administrators not to relent in encouraging Parents to have their Children who are 12 years and above vaccinated against Covid 19.
Mr SYAKALIMA said there is need to protect Children against the pandemic as the weather
is getting cold.
