Advance Chikwanda’s legacy as a nationalist-HH
Etambuyu Katota-President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called on Zambians to mourn Former Finance Minister ALEXANDER CHIKWANDA by working together to advance his legacy as a nationalist in championing development.
President HICHILEMA says Mr. CHIKWANDA did a lot for the country from the days of his youth in the struggle for independence and after liberation occupied key positions in building the nation.
He says Mr. CHIKWANDA will be remembered for initiating policies and advancements after independence such as infrastructure and education which he has also benefitted from.
Speaking to journalists shortly after visiting the house of mourning at State lodge where he also signed the book of condolences, the head of State appealed to the country to mourn the Former Finance Minister with respect and diligence.
President HICHILEMA also urged youths who aspire for leadership to be resilient and focus because public service is not for self but for the people.
He said he shares a long history with Mr. CHIKWANDA who was fondly called ABC.
President HICHILEMA said he served with Mr. CHIKWANDA on the Barclays Bank Board.
The Late Mr. CHIKWANDA 84, died on Tuesday MAY 3rd 2022 in Lusaka after an illness and will be put to rest at LUSAKA’s Leopards Hill Memorial Park on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
