BANDA ADVISES POLITICAL PARTIES
Advocates for National Development and Democracy -ANDD- has urged political parties to place the health of people first and avoid rallies during the election campaign period.
ANDD Executive Director Samuel Banda says politics should not endanger peoples’ lives, nor put the country at risk of a third wave of covid-19.
Mr. Banda told ZNBC News in an interview that political parties should instead focus on alternative means of campaigning such as door to door campaigns, radio, television, print and social media.
He said these are proven strategies that pose the least threat to the electorate.
Mr. Banda has challenged political party leaders to show leadership by putting peoples’ health and wellbeing first.
He has also called on the police to ensure all political parties adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines to safeguard lives.
