BISHOP IMAKANDO CHALLENGED
By Hannock Kasama-The New Congress Party -NCP- has dared Bread of Life Church International Overseer Bishop JOE IMAKANDO to stop meddling in political matters or join active politics.
NCP President PETER CHANDA says members of the clergy must be politically impartial and spiritual mentors in various issues that affect the masses.
Pastor CHANDA’s comments come in the wake of Bishop IMAKANDO’s statement to his congregants and followers on Face Book that political change is inevitable after the August 12, 2021, General Election.
But Pastor CHANDA told journalists at a Press briefing in Lusaka today that such a statement has potential to cause divisions among Zambians and to breach the country’s peaceful climate.
At the same function, Evangelical Youth Alliance International President MOSES LUNGU urged clergy men in the country not to unjustifiably oppose the government of the day.
Reverend LUNGU said doing so is against the biblical principles for the church to give reverence to established earthly authorities.
