“Build Private Boarding Houses for Nursing Schools”
By Brian Mwale- Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has called on the business community to invest in support facilities such as boarding houses to complement the nursing school on Chilubi island in Northern Province.
Dr. Chilufya says Chilubi Island College of Nursing and Midwifery has no boarding facilities, making students to rely on private boarding houses.
He says the business community should explore the ready market for private boarding facilities available on the Island.
He says government has designed the Island Health Services to ensure that people living on Islands have easy access to health services.
Addressing the business community on the Island, Dr. Chilufya said government is keen on supporting their growth hence the setting up of such facilities.
And Dr. Chilufya has promised to acquire a bus and boat for the school to ease the movement of students on the Island.
He told the students that the newly built District Hospital on the island will be used for their practical learning .
And students’ representative Mugala Mwebe thanked government for its commitment to improving the welfare of the students.
