The Copperbelt University (CBU) has instituted investigations into reports of sexual harassment of some female students by lecturers in exchange for better results at the institution.
CBU vice Chancellor Professor NAISON NGOMA has encouraged students who may have been harassed to use the existing channels to report any wrong doings.
This is after Some Students at CBU took to social media to complain about alleged sexual harassment by some lectures in exchange for better results and academic overload which has allegedly led to some committing suicide.
Speaking at a media briefing in Kitwe today Professor NGOMA dismissed the allegations stating that such claims have not been reported to any office at the Institution of Higher Learning.
And CBU Dean of Students SYLISH MAGIDA has disclosed that the University only recorded one case of suicide which cannot be attributed to academic overload.
Ms. MAGIDA said the reported suicide happened outside the institution and no reasons have been established on what could have led to the unfortunate situation.
