CENTRAL PROVINCE GETS TOUGH ON DEFORESTATION
Central Province Permanent Secretary MILNER MWANAKAMPWE has challenged the forestry department to curb deforestation.
Speaking when he handed over vehicles for Mumbwa and Kapiri Mposhi forestry offices, Mr. MWANAKAMPWE observed that there are a lot of forestry related illegalities.
He urged the officers to use the vehicles to curb illegal sand mining and deforestation in the province.
And Provincial Forestry Officer ODILIA LONGE said the vehicles must be used to manage the operations of the department and to curb illegalities.
Meanwhile, Kapiri Mposhi District Forestry Officer NICHOLAS CHIRWA, has thanked the government for empowering his office with a motor vehicle.
