Chambeshi copper smelter pledges support to CSR programs
Tamara Muswala-Chambeshi copper Smelter says it has spent over K27 million in its Corporate Social Responsibility Programs since 2006.
And Company Deputy Chief Executive Office XU LAIXIANG says despite the effects of COVID 19, Chambishi Copper Smelter has not retrenched any worker.
Mr. XU was speaking in Kalulushi yesterday when he handed over a rehabilitated Tennis Court, a newly constructed Luato market and a one by three classroom block at Buyantanshi Primary School whose catchment area for pupils is over 10,000.
And Kalulushi Member of Parliament KAMPAMBA MULENGA thanked CCS for the continued help to Kalulushi Constituency through its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
Ms. MULENGA also appealed to Chambishi Copper Smelter to consider building more classrooms so that the school can be upgraded to secondary level.
Meanwhile Kalulushi District Commissioner STEVEN KAINGA also thanked the mining company for the gesture.
And Kalulushi Mayor RASHIDAH MULENGA urged the community to guard the new infrastructure jealously.
