CHIEF ISHIMA APPEALS FOR PEACE
Chief Ishima of the Lunda people of Zambezi District has advised politicians not to use youths to cause instability in the nation ahead of the 2021 general election.
Speaking in a telephone interview, Chief Ishima who is also Forum for African Traditional Authorities of Zambia -FATAZA- Secretary General said it is the prayer of chiefs that peace prevails in the country ahead of the 2021 elections.
The traditional leader said politicians must preach peace and avoid hate speech during campaigns.
Chief Ishima has appealed to all politicians to preach messages of love, peace and unity as the nation prepares to hold the general election next year.
He has advised Zambians to reject politicians who want to thrive on promoting hate speech and tribalism to ascend to power.
Chief Ishima has also urged law enforcement agencies to be firm, impartial and professional in the execution of their duties so that the country continues to enjoy peace.
The traditional leader has further urged members of both the ruling Patriotic Front -PF- and opposition United Party for National Development- UPND- to co-exist and not view each other as sworn enemies but partners in national development.
