Chief Mlolo of the Chewa people in Chadiza District, eastern province has commended President Edgar Lungu’s all inclusive development programmes.
The traditional leader says President Lungu should continue embracing all stakeholders in development programmes.
Chief Mlolo says government has created an enabling environment for stakeholders such as Plan International to participate in development programmes.
The Chief was speaking when Plan International handed over two girls dormitories to Zemba Secondary and Tikondane Primary schools in Chadiza.
He also said he had withdrawn 41 girls, who went into early marriages so that they could continue with their education.
And Plan International Programme Unit Manager for Eastern Region Richard Kalyata said the construction of the shelters was made possible by the funds raised through a cycling initiative by cyclists from Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Eastern Province Education officer Allan Lingambe praised Plan International for the gesture.
The two dormitories were constructed at a cost of 987 -thousand 3 hundred Kwacha.
Some pupils also highlighted a number of challenges that they faced while staying in rented houses within the area.
