Chief Mukuni Ng’ombe wants tough action on climate change
Luyando Hamwaala-Senior Chief MUKUNI NG’OMBE of Central Province has called on government to sternly fight the indiscriminate cutting down of trees and environmental injustices which are leading to climate change.
Speaking through a representative during the celebration of his ascendancy to the position of Senior Chief which happened in April this year, Senior Chief MUKUNI NG’OMBE expressed delight with the creation of the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment.
He further urged Members of Parliament to call for the implementation of stiffer punishments on those found harming the environment.
Meanwhile Central Province Minister CREDO NANJUWA said government understands the important role traditional leaders play in the governance of the country.
And Information and Media Minister CHUSHI KASANDA called on the residents to continue supporting and working to with government.
Ms. KASANDA said government is willing to work with everyone without looking at tribe or political affiliation to bring development to central province.
