CHIEF MULEKA SIGNS MoU WITH KALUMBILA COOPERATIVE
By Mary Kachepa- Chief Muleka of the Nkoya people of Lukulu East in Western province has thanked government for creating an enabling environment for public private partnerships in various chiefdoms which has up lifted livelihoods in rural areas.
Chief Muleka says partnerships have allowed people to form and join various cooperatives enabling his subjects to be food-secure and maintain social order in the chiefdom.
The traditional leader said this in Lusaka today when he signed a memorandum of understanding with Kalumbila Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited for Agri business multi-purpose production.
Chief Muleka also donated five thousand hectares of land for the project and directed all his subjects to form and join cooperatives for them to be involved in economic generating activities.
Meanwhile, Kalumbila Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited Chairman General Chilekwa Mambwe thanked Chief Muleka for donating land for Agri business activities.
Mr. Mambwe also thanked President Edgar Lungu for endorsing the cooperative saying various traditional leaders and cooperating partners have come on board to offer support.
