“CHIPOLOPOLO’S FATE AT CHAN ON FIRST GAME”
By Chansa Kunda-Chipolopolo Coach Milutin Sredojevic says this evening’s group D game against Tanzania will determine his team’s fate at the CHAN tournament.
Zambia faces Tanzania at 18:00 hours in their first CHAN fixture.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference Micho said the game against Tanzania will test and measure the Chipolopolo’s prospects of getting past the group stage.
He said Zambia has the highest degree of respect for Tanzania who are emerging through the ranks in African Club football.
Micho further said the players know what to expect as they get into action after taking part in four international friendly games as a build up to the competition.
And Team Captain Adrian Chama said the players are ready to compete and showcase their talent.
And Tanzania’s coach Etienne Ndayiragije, who attributed the stability of the national team to the growth of domestic football, said his team will take each game as a final.
Ndayiragije said the target is to burn all their energy in the opening game so that they beat Zambia.
He said his lads are not under pressure facing the Chipolopolo but only want to do better than they did in the previous competition.
And Captain John Bocco said the team had good preparations ahead of the tournament and hope to start well in today’s game.
The other group D match will be a late kickoff encounter between Guinea and Namibia at 21:00 hours.
