Mary Kachepa-ZAMBIA has not recorded covid related deaths for the third consecutive day.
Acting Health Minister, CHARLES MILUPI says 680,972 covid 19 vaccines have been given since the re-launch on May 14th, 2022.
Mr. MILUPI says there is success in the re-launched Covid 19 vaccine campaign and the coverage has increased from 22 percent to 24 percent.
He says there is increased accessibility among all ages and gender.
Mr. MILUPI says Covid 19 vaccination coverage still needs to be over 70 percent of the eligible population for government to relax some of the measures.
Speaking during the Covid update in Lusaka, Mr MILUPI said there have been countries recording high cases of covid 19 and this poses a treat for Zambia.
Mr. MILUPI said the recovery rate remains high at 99 percent.
After the update, Mr. MILUPI took a booster vaccine and encouraged citizens to do the same.
Meanwhile, World Wide Fund for Nature donated various medical equipment worth one hundred thousand Euros to Lienta and Lewanika Hospitals in Western Province.
