DISTRIBUTE INPUTS EARLY- MANJIMELA

North Western Province Permanent Secretary Willies Manjimela has called on agro inputs suppliers to start positioning inputs early in the province to enable farmers plan on time for the next farming season.
Mr. Manjimela says it is prudent to have inputs in good time while farmers still have finances from their maize marketing.
He has commended Nyimba Investments for starting to position fertilizer early in North Western Province for easy access by farmers in the region before the onset of the rains.
Mr. Manjimela was speaking when Nyimba Investments Head of Sales and Marketing Willings Mulendema paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Solwezi.
And Mr. Mulendema has assured farmers in North Western Province that the company will finish positioning fertilizer in the region by mid-August.
Mr. Mulendema has disclosed that Nyimba Investment has already procured 150, 000 Metric of Fertilizer out of which 46, 000 has already been transported into the country.
Mr. Mulendema who also inspected the offloading of fertilizer at the Solwezi Main Depot, said the company has planned to position 15, 000 Metric tonnes in North Western Province.
Meanwhile, Chief Mulonga of Mushindamo District has urged farmers in the area not to just concentrate on beer drinking after selling their maize, but plan for the farming season by procuring fertilizer in advance.
Chief Mulonga has described the early positioning of fertilizer in the region as progressive and that it leaves farmers with no excuse to produce food.
