DISTRIBUTION OF INPUTS IN SERENJE COMPLETED
(NAIS) Distribution of inputs to farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme -FISP- has been completed in Serenje District.
Serenje District Commissioner, ANDREW MPYAKULA says all farmers under FISP in the district have collected their inputs.
Mr. MPYAKULA says this is a sign that farmers in Serenje have taken farming as a serious business.
Speaking when Nyimba Investments Head of Sales and Marketing WILLINGS MULENDEMA paid a courtesy call on him at his Office in Serenje, Mr. MPYAKULA said farmers have also been sensitised and cautioned against selling the inputs.
Mr. MPYAKULA commended Nyimba Investments for conducting smooth issuance of Compound ‘D’ fertilizer to farmers.
He said farmers in the district have collected inputs without challenges.
And Serenje District Agricultural Coordinator JACOB SHAWA said all the targeted 20-thousand 2-hundred and 74 farmers under FISP in the district have collected their inputs.
He said the rains in the district have also intensified, and that farmers have started planting.
MEANWHILE, Mr. MULENDEMA said the company has made tremendous progress in most districts in Central Province in issuing inputs to farmers.
