DMMU plans for projected floods,dry spells
The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit – DMMU- is in the process of formulating a contingency plan ahead of projected flash floods and dry spells in the 2022-2023 rainy season.
This comes after revelations from the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment that the country may experience dry spells, flash floods and floods during the 2022-2023 rainy season.
DMMU National Coordinator GABRIEL POLLEN says the Unit is currently in the process of identifying areas that will be hit.
Dr. POLLEN was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Acting North Western Province Permanent Secretary NAOMI TETAMASHIMBA in Solwezi.
And Ms. TETAMASHIMBA called on the private sector to work with government offices and help disaster victims in an event of a disaster.
