DON’T DEMONIZE FAZ- MBALAZI
Mungwi Hostpurs President CHIKONDE MBALAZI has advised football stakeholders to offer solutions on how the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- Executive can improve the sport instead of merely demonizing the Association.
MBALAZI says while things are not well with Zambian football, critics should offer solutions on how best the game can be improved.
He adds that’s much as it hurts to miss the long awaited AFCON and World Cup, the FAZ Executive has also scored some positives hence it is imperative to support them by offering solutions.
MBALAZI has further applauded FAZ President ANDREW KAMANGA and his team for the efforts so far but is quick to advise that they need to up their game and improve the sport.
He tells ZNBC News in an interview that the KAMANGA led Executive should be given more time as they were recently elected for another four year term.
MBALAZI further notes that the current executive can only be properly judged after their term.
He says his team, Mungwi Hotspurs of Northern Province which is in Division one, is sponsored by individuals because grants offered are not adequate.
MBALAZI has since called for more investments in grassroots football which he says is key in developing the sport in the country.
On Thursday October 14, 2021, ZNBC ran a story which quoted MBALAZI as having supported former FAZ Spokesperson MWANSA MBULAKULIMA’s calls for the association President KAMANGA to resign.
It has come to the attention of ZNBC that the story which came from ZANIS in Mungwi was erroneous and that MBALAZI had not given his views on the matter.
ZNBC wishes to apologise to MBALAZI for the inconvenience caused.
