DR. LUNGU ACCORDED OFFICIAL FUNERAL

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has accorded an Official Funeral to Former Cabinet Minister EFFRON CHAKUPA LUNGU.
Dr. LUNGU died on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Chipata District after an illness.
President HICHILEMA has also declared a One day of National Mourning in honour of the Late Former Minister in recognition of his numerous contributions to the Nation.
Acting Secretary to the Cabinet, PATRICK KANGWA says Dr. LUNGU who served as Foreign Affairs Minister in 2013, will be put to rest on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Msazulwa Village in Chief Chikwa’s Area of Chama South, Chama District.
Mr. KANGWA says the public is requested to observe the One day of national mourning for the former Cabinet Minister on FRIDAY from 06 hours to 18 Hours.
In a statement availed to ZNBC News, Mr. KANGWA said during the Period of National Mourning, entertainment activities MUST be postponed or cancelled while all flags will be required to fly at half mast.
He also said the Official Funeral Service for then Former Cabinet Minister will be held at Winners Chapel in Chipata on Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 hours.
Mr. KANGWA said the body of the late will be transported to his home village in Chama South, in readiness for burial on Friday, April 29, 2022.
He also reminded mourners attending the funeral gathering to observe the COVID -19 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to avoid the spread of the disease.
