The Economics Association of Zambia -EAZ- is happy with President Edgar Lungu’s announcement that government will establish the Economic stabilisation Fund.
EAZ President Lubinda Habazoka says the fund is important as it will help the country during times like the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Habazoka says in times when the mineral prices are doing well, government can use the fund to save resources for use during hard times.
He says it is good that the PF manifesto has concentrated more on finding solutions to the problems affecting the economy.
Dr. Habazoka has told ZNBC News in Lusaka today that it is good that the PF has promised to uplift the lives of streets kids and other vulnerable groups.
He said the proposal to do away with the road tax is also welcome.
Dr. Habazoka said road tax should be incorporated into the toll fees that are paid at toll gates.
