ECONOMIC RECOVERY VIABLE-SIKUMBA
By Moombe Hamoboola:
Livingstone Tourism Association Chairperson Rodney Sikumba says the Economic Recovery Programme President Edgar Lungu launched last week is viable especially for the tourism sector.
Mr. Sikumba has told ZNBC News in an interview that giving Livingstone priority and incentives to host meetings, conferences and exhibitions coupled with plans to revamp the Maramba Cultural Village will boost tourism in the Tourist Capital.
Mr. Sikumba has urged government officials to help President LUNGU in revamping the economy by ensuring that the document containing the announced Economic Recovery Programme for Zambia is implemented.
And Mr. Sikumba said 2020 has been a bad year for the tourism sector in Zambia because of the coronavirus pandemic that ravaged the industry.
He said the association will concentrate on domestic and regional tourism as it waits for the approved COVID-19 vaccines to reach Africa.
