“Education Sector Should Focus on Wealth Creation”
Education Permanent Secretary Jobicks Kalumba has called for a pragmatic shift in Zambia’s education sector to focus on wealth creation through entrepreneurship and skills development
Dr. Kalumba was speaking in Kitwe during the business entrepreneurship gala for teachers on the Copperbelt.
And Copperbelt Provincial education Officer Philip Ngoma says most schools in the region are running production units to raise resources and enhance income generating skills in the learner’s.
Meanwhile Residents of Chawama in Lusaka are concerned with the stalled works in the construction of a community library.
The residents have told ZNBC news that since the ground-breaking for the project eight months ago, the works have not started.
But Member of Parliament, Lawrence Sichalwe says construction of the Library will only start after ZESCO relocates its infrastructure.
Mr. Sichalwe is however appeals to well-wishers to come on board and mobilise money for the project.
