FATHI STILL HOPEFUL
NAPSA Stars Coach Mohammed Fathi is still hopeful that the team can make it past the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Fathi says the team will push for a win in tomorrow’s game as they take on Moroccan outfit RS Berkane in the second leg, CAF Confederation Cup Group B match to be played at the National Heroes Stadium.
He says despite losing two nil in their first group B game played in Morocco the Pensioners can beat the visitors at home.
Speaking during a pre-match Press Conference held at the National Heroes stadium today, Fathi said as the club’s wind-up their group games, the target is for NAPSA to finish strong by winning the last two fixtures.
He said despite the odds not favoring his side, the team will push until the end.
Fathi said he expects the players to put in maximum effort as tomorrow’s game will serve as their last group game on home soil before traveling to Algeria to face JS Kabyile.
And RS Berkane Head Coach Juan Benali said the game is crucial for his side as they are in pursuit of a win in order tighten their chances of qualifying to the quarter finals.
Benail said the game will not be easy as NAPSA STARS are a good side regardless of their current predicament.
NAPSA STARS Captain Dickson Chapa said the players are geared for the game and will push for a win.
And RS Berkane Captain Mohamed Bentarcha said the team will work as an entity so that they can pick up three points.
Meanwhile, ZNBC will televise live on TV1, the NAPSA-Berkane match, as well as the game between Nkana and Pyramids FC of Egypt.
The game between Nkana and Pyramids will be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, kicking off at 15:00 hours, while the Napsa Versus Berkane match will kick off at 18:00 hours at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
