FRA TO KICK START MARKETING SEASON WITH K2BN
The Food Reserve Agency -FRA- says it has two billion Kwacha to kick start the 2022/2023 marketing season.
FRA Board Chairperson, KELVIN HAMBWEZYA says the agency will start buying maize from farmers as soon as the moisture content drops to recommended levels.
Mr HAMBWEZYA says the agency has already put measures in place to ensure that farmers and transporters are given money in the shortest possible time.
Speaking during ZNBC TV1’s Sunday Interview, Mr. HAMBWEZYA disclosed that the country has over 230,000 metric tonnes of maize and that the country is food secure.
Meanwhile, the FRA Board Chairperson has called on the private sector to buy soya beans from farmers across the country.
