FUNDS RELEASED TO COMPLETE LUNDAZI TRADES -KAYULA

Higher Education Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame says resources have been made available to complete the construction of the Lundazi Trades Training Institute.
Mrs. Siame says the project which started in 2015 has faced several challenges that have contributed to the delay in completion.
She says the cost of the project has increased from the initial 21-million Kwacha to about 32 million kwacha and some funds have been mobilized.
The Higher Education Permanent Secretary said this during the tour of Lundazi Trades Training Institute construction site.
Mrs. Siame said government targets to ensure all structural works, fittings and the road network are completed before the end of the year.
She also urged the contractors to ensure 85 percent of the works are completed in the next three months so that the remaining 15 percent of works are done in the last quarter of the year.
And Ministry of Higher Education Director for Vocational Education and Training Alex Simumba said the project was abandoned due to challenges in resources.
Mr. Simumba said now that 2 point 8 million kwacha has been released to the contractors, works will be expedited.
