GOVT CUTS HEALTH TRAINING FEES
Government has reduced training and equipment fees across public health training facilities to make them affordable for learners in the health sector.
Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya said this when he commissioned a 2 point 6 million Kwacha practicum site for students of Chainama College.
Dr Chilufya said the reduction in health workers training fees is meant to ease the barriers of access to education.
ZANIS reports that Dr. Chilufya said the ministry of health in consultation with the General nursing council has since reduced fees to 8- thousand 5-hundred Kwacha per annum across public institutions in health training.
He said his ministry had noted variations over fees charged by public training facilities ranging 18 to 10 thousand Kwacha which in a way was a hindrance to some learners.
Though this announcement was done some months back, my question is, which Training Schools are Health Institutions? Because, even right away, Schools like Evelyn Hone have made no deductions, is Evelyn Hone not in that category?
