GOVT NODS PRIVATE SECTOR SUPPORT IN E-LEARNING
Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has called for private sector support in developing a variety of e-learning products that will meet the educational needs of pupils.
Mr. SYAKALIMA says the government supports initiatives like those undertaken by Nsomo Academy to provide co-curricular e-learning resource to primary school students in Zambia.
He says such initiatives will not only increase e-learning products on the market, but also help Zambia develop its own brand of e-learning technologies that meet the standards of the Zambian primary school curriculum.
The Minister says the e-learning products that Nsomo Academy will offer will be useful in situations where students, for one reason or another, are unable, unwilling or incapable of attending school or accessing school resources.
Mr. SYAKALIMA said this in a speech read for him during the official launch of Nsomo Academy Website by Chief Curriculum Specialist RUTH ZULU in Lusaka today.
And Nsomo Academy Board Member MUTANDE TEMBO said the Nsomo-dot com portal also provides opportunities for learners to take exercises, tests and exams after they watch a lesson.
Ms TEMBO said Nsomo dot com is a unique product because it is a hub that will allow learners, parents and teachers to interact and engage on the platform.
