Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO says government is likely to relax COVID-19 stringent measures in districts that have attained the targeted 70% vaccination coverage.
Ms. MASEBO says government is encouraged that over 22 districts countrywide have managed to attain the 70% COVID vaccination target.
She says Central and Copperbelt provinces have now passed the target of fully immunised eligible population standing at 74 and 71% respectively.
Ms. MASEBO said this in a statement read on her behalf by Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services LACKSON KASONKA during the COVID-19 update.
She disclosed that 103 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected out of 2234 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
Ms. MASEBO said of the new cases, only one patient from North-western province required admission.
