Handball Zambia At Risk of Ban Over 300 Euros
By Cristabel Lumingu-Zambia National Handball team Captain Bernard Mulenga risks being banned for life from the sport if he does not pay the 300 Euros, which he was charged for injuring a Ghanaian player during the All Africa Games which were held in Morocco.
Mulenga says it is sad that he was accused of having intentionally injured his opponent, who later collapsed, when in fact it was an accident.
Mulenga , who is currently serving a three – months ban, fears that he may be banned for life if he does not pay the money .
He told ZNBC Sports that he was directed to pay the said amount by November 30th, the deadline which has since elapsed.
He said the Handball Federation is unable to help because it largely relies on members’ contributions.
Mulenga said he can not leave without sports hence the call for assistance .
He said that he is currently preparing for the Handball Africa Cup slated for January 2020 in Tunisia.
