HH DESCRIBES WINA AS STATESMAN
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has described veteran politician SIKOTA WINA as a statesman.
In his message of condolences to the WINA family, President HICHILEMA said the veteran politician risked his life and that of his family to liberate the nation.
The President said Mr WINA was part of a generation of brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their personal welfare to liberate the nation from colonial rule.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News in Lusaka by Presidential Spokesperson ANTHONY BWALYA.
And Veteran Politician VERNON MWAANGA has described Mr. WINA as an icon who tirelessly participated in the struggle for Zambia’s independence.
Dr. MWAANGA said Mr. WINA was an astute and articulate spokesman of the UNIP.
He told ZNBC News that Mr. WINA was a humble servant of the people.
Mr. WINA died yesterday at the University Teaching Hospital.
