HILLCREST ALUMNI ZAMBIA DREAMS BIG
By Justine Akakulubelwa:
The Hillcrest Alumni Zambia has pledged to continue supporting the school management in creating a conducive learning environment for pupils at Hillcrest National Technical Secondary School.
Hillcrest Alumni Zambia representative, Dennis Banda, says the group which comprises mainly older members, up to the early 1990s, will also promote the welfare of pupils at the school.
Mr. Banda says intelligent but vulnerable pupils at the school will be assisted so that they too can complete their education with ease.
He says the group also intends to rehabilitate some infrastructure as well as improving water reticulation at its former school.
Mr. Banda said this at the handover ceremony of 80 mattresses worth 55 thousand Kwacha to the school.
And Hillcrest School Head teacher, Rose Miyombo, said the school remains grateful to the assistance it is receiving from former pupils.
Mrs. Miyombo says the teaching staff will always ensure that the school continues to record a hundred percent pass rate, at all times.
And a representative of the pupils, Joshua Seti, a Grade Eight pupil, says the donation will play a significant role in the provision of essential boarding facilities at the school.
