By Musenge Mulimba
Independent Churches of Zambia has advised the clergy not to divide the nation on political lines.
ICOZ Copperbelt Province Bishop Daliso Mwanza says the church should play a unifying role.
Speaking to ZNBC News in Kitwe this morning, Bishop Mwanza said the Clergy should be neutral especially when addressing their congregants.
He further called on political parties to remain calm and campaign peacefully as the nation heads to the polls on Thursday.
Bishop Mwanza said there is no need for political parties to resort to violence during their campaigns but instead educate the electorate on what they will do for them once elected into office.
He also thanked President Edgar Lungu for the Covid relief funds that have helped many churches sustain themselves during the outbreak of the pandemic.
