K3 MILLION ALLOCATED TO NCHANGA NORTH GENERAL HOSPITAL
By Paul Shalala
The Nchanga Constituency Development Fund Committee in Chingola on the Copperbelt has allocated three million Kwacha for the rehabilitation of various wards at Nchanga North General Hospital.
Nchanga Member of Parliament DERRICK CHILUNDIKA says the allocation is towards the rehabilitation of three wards and giving a facelift to the referral institution.
Mr CHILUNDIKA, who is also Luapula Province Minister, says the Nchanga CDF Committee has prioritised the hospital because of the vital role it plays in the health sector.
And Nchanga North General Medical Superintendent PETER PHIRI said the allocation of three million kwacha has come at the right time as the hospital is struggling with old infrastructure.
Dr. PHIRI said the money will help rehabilitate the male, female and children’s wards which desperately need repairs.
He said the money will be put to good use and he is hopeful that Chingola Constituency can also allocate some money towards other works at the hospital as it caters for patients from both constituencies.
