Kagame’s Livingstone stay a tourism bonus-Mweetwa
Southern province Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA says the hosting of Rwanda President PAUL KAGAME has sent a strong signal to tourists around the world that tourism in Livingstone is back on track.
Mr. MWEETWA says Zambia, like many other countries is graduating from the COVID 19 era that had closed up most countries.
He says President KAGAME’s visit provides an assurance to tourists that life is back to normal in Livingstone, Zambia’s tourist capital.
Mr MWEETWA was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Livingstone.
Meanwhile Livingstone City Mayor, CONSTANCE MULEABAI said the visit by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and his Rwandese counterpart PAUL KAGAME has stirred up the local authority to do more to improve the outlook of the city as part of tourism development.
Ms. MULEABAI said that the local authority will look at different ways of improving standards in various facilities under its mandate to enhance the promotion of tourism products.
She has told ZNBC News that there is also need to ensure that all tourism products in the city are easily accessible by all tourists at any given time.
Ms. MULEABAI said the city now looks forward to more investments in different sectors and a rebirth of the industrial sector.
