KALULUSHI HONOURS KK FOR FORESTS
Residents of Kalulushi on the Copperbelt say the preservation and creation of the five forests in the area can be attributed to First President, KENNETH KAUNDA.
ZANIS reports that the residents have noted that the respective forests have greatly contributed to the growth of the forestry and mining industries in the area.
Former Kalulushi Mayor, EVERISTO MWALILINO says the district is today bordered by forests and mines, born out of a deliberate policy by Dr. KAUNDA.
Mr. MWALILINO has named the forest reserves as Icimpe, Chisangwa, Chibuluma, Chati and Luano, which are today the core of lucrative ZAFFICO operations on the Copperbelt.
And a senior citizen, CHINGUMBE MALITI has noted that Dr KAUNDA’s love for nature goes back to the land policy, formulated by his government.
Meanwhile, another resident of Icimpe, ISRAEL NYIRONGO has urged residents of Kalulushi to emulate the late President’s legacy of preserving nature for future generations.
