Kalusha’s lawyers write to NSCZ
Lawyers representing Football legend KALUSHA BWALYA have writtern to National Sports Council of Zambia to prevail over the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ for allegedly breaching provisions of its Constitution.
This is in respect of the vetting exercise in which FAZ Ethics Committee has barred BWALYA and three others from contesting the Presidency.
In a letter to NSCZ Chairperson dated February 19th 2020, Lawyer LEWIS MOSHO of LEWIS NATHAN Advocates on the instruction of his client MUMBO LOMBE has demanded that the council exercises it Statutory obligation on FAZ.
LOMBE says the FAZ Ethics Committee is illegal as its members did NOT themselves undergo the intergrity checks as required by the FAZ Constitution.
He says NO FAZ code of ethics has been put in place to guide the operations of the Ethics Committtee.
LOMBE says given the serious breaches of the law, the National Sports Council of Zambia should suspend FAZ for breaching its Constitution and FIFA Statutes.
He says that if it does NOT do that in 48 hours from date of receipt of the letter, the council must reverse the decisions of the Ethics Committtee.
And Lawyer MOSHO says he expects quick response and prompt action from the National Sports Council of Zambia .
MOSHO has copied the letters of demand to the Attorney General, Minister of Sports, and FIFA Secretary General among others.
