KANGANJA CALLS FOR PEACEFUL CAMPAIGNS
Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has urged the community of Chisamba District and all political players to conduct campaigns and all forms of electoral activities in a peaceful manner.
Mr. Kanganja says people should avoid any form of political violence when incited to do so by people with selfish motives.
He says people should instead work closely with the police in policing this year’s election by reporting all those that commit electoral related or any form of crime.
Mr. Kanganja was speaking when he commissioned a refurbished administrative office block as well as a motor vehicle to the Chisamba Police Station.
He said police is expected to enhance service delivery to members of the community so that crime is controlled.
Mr. Kanganja has since has thanked stakeholders and cooperating Partners for making the rehabilitation works of the building and repairing of the motor vehicle possible.
Meanwhile, Central Province Police Commissioner, Chola Katanga says the handover is as a result of a realization by the office in charge that there was an acute shortage of office space and transport challenges for most police sections.
Mr. Katanga says Chisamba is an ideal example of where partnership between the Police and the community is working.
He has since urged the entire community, stakeholders and police officers to jealously keep the property.
And, ZAMBEEF General Manager Francis Mandomona said their participation is not just a cooperate social responsibility project but a contribution to Chisamba community.
