
KASOMENO-MWENDA TOLL ROAD PROJECT LAUNCH ON COURSE
(ZANIS) The groundbreaking ceremony for the Kasomeno-Mwenda toll road and Luapula Bridge project will be held in Mwense in Zambia and Kasenga in the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC.
The decision has been arrived at during the ongoing bilateral engagements between the Luapula and Haut -Katanga government authorities in Lubumbashi ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony slated for April 30.
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa and his Haut- Katanga counterpart Jacques Katwe are presiding over the talks.
According to the working groups tasked to manage the event, the DRC will host the event in the morning while Zambia will take over in the afternoon.
Both President Edgar Lungu and his Congolese counterpart Felix Tshisekedi are expected to grace the event.
And Mr. Chilangwa has expressed confidence that the event will now go as planned because of the headways made so far.
And Mr. Katwe said the close relationship being exhibited by Presidents Lungu and Tshisekedi will lead to the social economic development of the two countries.
