President Edgar Lungu says government will revive all viable companies that were abandoned after privatisation.
President Lungu says government will see if the Industrial Development Cooperation -IDC- can invest in the Kenani Rubber Plantation in Nchelenge District of Luapula province.
He notes that the revival of the Munushi Banana plantation and Kawambwa tea company in Luapula province is testimony that this can also be done to the Rubber Plantation.
The President says the two companies had completely died until the PF pumped in resources.
He says from what he has observed, the Cannan rubber plantation is viable and can contribute to employment creation.
Speaking when he conducted a tour of the plantation, President Lungu said not everything done by past governments is bad.
He said companies like the Kenani Rubber Plantation were established for the good of the country.
And,Kenani Rubber Plantation Forest Technologist Sylvia Lungo asked government to pump in resources in the plantation.
She said the plantation will employ a lot of people when fully operational.
President Lungu is in Nchelenge to check on development projects and is expected in Mwense on Thursday on a similar mission.
