KK BURIAL TO GO AHEAD AS SCHEDULED

Government says the burial programme of First President Dr. KENNETH KAUNDA will proceed as scheduled tomorrow July 07, 2021.

Information and Broadcasting Service Permanent Secretary AMOS MALUPENGA says there is no discord between government and any member of Dr. KAUNDA’s family over the burial of the first President at the Presidential burial site.

Mr. MALUPENGA said this in LUSAKA in a live interview during ZNBC’s 19:00 hours TV news.

He said one of Dr. KAUNDA’s sons KAWECHE who was recently quoted in the media to have opposed the burial at the Presidential Burial Site in LUSAKA, has refuted the claim and demanded a retraction.

Meanwhile Solicitor General ABRAM MWANSA said government has not been served with any purported court injunction allegedly filed by KAWECHE KAUNDA to restrain the burial of Dr. KAUNDA at the Presidential Burial site.

Mr. MWANSA said as far as government is concerned the program will go on as planned.
