LCC Plans To Procure Two Million Masks
By Ruth Mwale
Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa says the local authority plans to procure over 2 Million Masks, water basins and soap to enhance adherence to hygiene in the city.
Mr. Sampa says the move is aimed at preventing people from contracting the Coronavirus.
He says currently the basins and soap have been procured to be distributed at the Central Business District and all markets in the City.
Mr. Sampa said this in an interview shortly after the cancellation of official opening of the STEM School in Kabulonga due to the Statutory Instruments enforced to restrict mass gatherings.
The public that gathered to witness the official opening dispersed after being advised against mass gatherings.
Mr. Sampa has called on the business community and embassies to help procure masks and basins to be distributed to people to avert any possible outbreak of the pandemic.
